The modal price of onion at the fictional Hillcrest mandi reached ₹1,980 a quintal, up from ₹1,840 last week.

Growers said wet fields made digging slow, so fewer bags came to the market.

Traders expect prices to settle once the weather clears and arrivals pick up.
